Hello,
my name is Tiffany, I`m 18 and I`m getting ready to go and teach english abroad. I really want to go to either Europe or South America and I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what Country(s) (is) are the best to start? I need it to be somewhere safe above all...
Thanks!
=) Tiff |

Tiffany, the international standards for teaching English include a university degree. Go back to school. You're not ready to teach yet. |

If you want to get a decent job you will need some education beyond a high school diploma. There are no English teaching jobs in Europe for uneducated 18 year olds. |

Would that be Miss Tiffany Troll?
What a funny sendup. The avatar and name are just too cute.
Maybe this was meant to send poor old Roger (a former curmudgeon on this forum) into apolexy.
Great work. |

Tiffany,
I concur. Get a B.S. degree first, best in teaching. Score a teaching license too. Secondly, avoid Colombia, Venezuela and such. Teaching TEFL to the FARC is not exactly a life-extending experience. Worse yet if your relatives don't cough up the ransom. My ex is from Cali. I was there in '97 and it wasn't very safe then. It's worse now. Look to safer countries in Europe and Asia once you have a degree (a teaching license will open hidden doors with better pay for you too). Just my observations. |

You don't need a degree to teach English in may countries. As long as you have a CELTA or an equivalent qualification it is possible for non-graduates to get teaching work. |
