Does anyone have any info. or comments about Charing Cross in Dalian?
I am thinking about a 2nd tour in China and have not seen anything about this school on the info. journal page. I suppose (with all the belly-aching) this is probably a good thing. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. |

It appears to be a new school, according to a profile I read in
the JETAA jobbank which says the school "will open in July,
2003" (you can find this using Google search).
That would explain why there are no comments about the
school from current or former teachers; there aren't any!
So you are getting a pig in a poke. Who knows, the school
could be great or it could go bust. From the look of things
they are hiring everyone fresh:
"We are looking for: educators, managers, teachers and
anyone who has experience"
Sounds like they've really done their planning on this one!
For someone with China experience and a decent place to
go back to, it might be worth a shot, but probably a bit risky
for a first timer.
But, who knows, they might just be the next great thing |

hi mexico, just wanted to let you know that when I was in Dalian at the beginning of this year, there were a couple of start-up schools trying to make their way into the EFL business--they didn't know what they were doing, it was hopelessly chaotic, and the teachers ended up leaving. I am not saying that it has to be that way with every start-up school but just be cautious...if you end up taking the job and it doesn't work out, you will always have a chance of finding someonething else in Dalian (since you might want to stay cause it is a nice place I think . Who is running that place...do you know? |
