Hey, my employer is stating that I'll work only 26 hours, So I'll have to make NHI payments alone which I am told could cost 30,000 a month! So, apart from this I'll also have to pay into a private pension for when I am older (need to think about this sort of stuff now I think) so that'll be another 20k (as my employer will be matching payments by 40%, so in total I'll be putting 28k a month yen) a month so in total I'll be paying 50k yena month for NHI and private pension from a salary of 300k - 320k. Does anyone else do this? shall I just not bother with private pension?

Are you really a full-time worker or not? What you wrote is not very clear to me.

Lately, eikaiwas hire people under the guise of being full-timers, yet they give them 29.5 hours of class time or less, and that allows them to skirt the copayments for health insurance because it makes the government think you are PART-time, instead. We all know that there is more to teaching than just being in the classroom, and we deserve to get paid for it.

From what you wrote, it seems that your employer will not make the copayments but is willing to help with pension. That sounds rather screwy to me, so it's necessary to know if you are PT or FT. If he's willing to make copayments for one but not the other, one has to wonder why.
