Today I was sitting in a cafe, enjoying a good cup of coffee and watching the manic traffic pass by. For some reason the cafe was playing cheesy English love ballads from the late 80's and early 90's....you know the ones. Then all of a sudden a song starts playing...(i am going to save myself the ridicule of mentioning the title) and my stomach just went into knots. A song I haven't heard in years suddenly brought everything to a stop. For some reason memories were re-lived, and old passions rekindled in an instant. For the rest of the afternoon, my head was is a complete fog of memories and emotions.

Old summer nights, with the boys staring into the sky, wondering what was going to happen when I had to "grow up", the butterfly's in my stomach while I quietly debated kissing the girl of my dreams (big mistake), the excitement of driving my first car home, and realizing I had never to this point driven a manual shift car, losing my favorite 4-legged friend to the Ice storm in 1998, being invited to my first girlfriends wedding and crying in the bathroom, attending the first funeral of a close friend in high school, solving the worlds problems with my buddies in a fishing boat lined in empty beer cans....

This thread is for anyone who has every taken a timeout to reminisce about all the episodes in your life that made you who and what you are. I am half piss, playing the same cheesy song over and over, shedding a couple tears for times gone past.....if I close my eyes, I am not miles away from home in some foreign land, but sitting on an old backyard porch with my close friends, in silence staring at the amazing Canadian country sky wondering what will happen when I have to grow up.....
