|
|
I have read the forum and been unable to find answers to this question:
When applying for a Z visa, I thought that three pieces of paper were necessary.
1. Application of visa notice;
2. Foreign experts certificate;
3. Invitation letter.
It looks like the boss at my FAO has given me two things, even though I told him that (last I knew) three pieces were necessary. It appears that the letter of invitation and application of visa notice have been consolidated to one piece of paper.
Has anyone else had this experience? Was 2 pieces of paper enough for you guys to get your Z visa? |

From what some people have written lately, it would appear that either the rules have changed that now only an invitation and a FEC is required, or that the requirements seem to vary from one Chinese Consulate to another. According to the web site of Chinese Consulate in Vancouver:
Quote: |
5) for employment/work "Z" visa (single entry only, no multiple entries): A: an Employment License issued by the Chinese Ministry of Labor. For applicants to be working in an academic institution, a confirmation issued by the Chinese State Bureau of Foreign Experts; B: an official invitation issued by a Chinese government agency. |
As we can see, the FEC is not mentioned and from personal experience, I had never had to present a FEC to get my Z visa. I had, but the visa clerk just simply told me it wasn't required.
What did the FAO send you? Take them to the local Chinese Consulate and unless they say anything, just give them your passport, the application form and the documents the FAO sent you. |
