I arrive there tomorrow and I was going to start a jobsearch in the following week. However, it seems from various sources that Varsovians are all heading out to Mazury or the mountains for the next week or so.
I'm asking this because I've just been invited by friends to stay with them in Gdansk for a few days. I'm worried about the 'opportunity cost' of delaying the jobsearch for a week, but from postings on this board it seems that the schools' hunt for teachers begins in earnest in September. This need not be the case for In-Company outfits but if the tail-end of August is the time when everyone has their last big summer getaway, aren't they likely to be dead also?
I say this almost in hope because I've sent a few CVs off but haven't yet received any replies or acknowledgements. |

| The general answer is that you're pretty safe to put off your job search until the very end of August/first of September. August is traditionally the month off for all of Europe, and you're right, you are unlikely to find anyone much around with decision-making status. |
