Does anybody have any leads on any decent jobs in Japan now?
Are there any decent safe recruiting agencies?
I am in China now and have been here for 1.5 years. I have over 2 years of overseas teaching experience. I have 2 years of University
I am 29 and a native speaker from Canada and get the working holiday visa. I am interested in the cities of Hiroshima, Osaka, Kobe, Saporro, Kanazawa, Tokyo area and Sendai. Any other city that is good would be fine too.
Any good information is very much apprecieted. I can also tell you anything you want to know on China. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! |

Having just gone through a job search myself I can say that you've just missed a major boat, in that the second half of the official school year starts next month. Still I managed to score a lifeline because a school had a teacher they recruited turn up with a dodgy degree. So you might get a position thru this kind of situation occuring. Failing that things are going to be quiet on the job front until March / April next year. Still, getting your name out there now is not necessarily a waste.
Of the cities you mentioned my picks are Hiroshima, Kobe and Kanazawa. Tokyo and Osaka being much more expensive and conversely where most of the jobs are.
I'm going to assume that you have a full degree and maybe a TESL qual. Otherwise you are going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel. My advice to you is start getting on the treadmill now but not being to hasty to take the first opportunity that comes along.
good luck |
