Hello. I just have a question. I am trying to locate a University to which I can get a degree from. I'm in China now and I want to get a B.A. eventually. Now I've emailed companies in Japan and I emailed Korean Embassies and they told me that if I were to teach English in either of those two countries, I have to have a Bachelors Degree from a recognized Canadian university. Is it really necessary for a B.A. to be from a University from your own country? Also, are there any online degrees that will work? |

I'm sure its not necessary for the degree to be from your home country. Plenty of people study outside the US for degrees....Scandinavian countries are an option, the UK, Australia, New Zealand.
It pays to do your research though, and seek out a school with a strong reputation and that offers courses in what your interested in. Another thing to consider is the financial aspect. How much can you afford for tuition? Can you work full time and go to school? How long do you want to spend on your BA? It could be easier to go back to Canada, move in with your folks, and finish your degree as quickly and easily as possible. Maybe do a year abroad or something.
As for online degrees...thats something I know nothing about. Personally, I would rather have the classroom experience. I learn much better that way. And don't forget...you may end up going on to graduate school one day, and it might be easier to get into the program of your choice with BA from a reputable school and with a high GPA as well. |
