I've just found a job in Wroclaw with Empik.
Unfortunately I don't have a proper place to live.
Does anyone in Wroclaw (by any miracle) have a spare room for a month or something?
Yes, I really am this desperate. |

Get a hostel for about 50 zl a night - http://www.wroclaw.pl/m6875/
PM me if you want some more info.
For flat hunting check out www.autogielda.pl and negotiate the site to NIERUCHOMOŚCI (how's your Polish BTW?)
Good luck. |

Did anything turn up are you now settled in our lovely city? Not my city really. I just live here too. |

Nothing turned up. I really like Wroclaw but think I'm going to leave. Not sure that Empik was going to be such a good job (anyone heard of the Speak Up teaching style? Sounds dodgy). Surprise observations are not normal, are they? |

Some schools only do surprise observations as a matter of policy. Observations when the teacher knows about them ahead of time can be of limited use. |

AFAIK, Speak Up is a Callan outfit - at least according to the flyers I've seen for SpeakUp.pl here in Warsaw. |

Speak Up is not Callan. The way it was explained to me, the lessons are already planned according to the students' level and current progress (I presume they are the same lessons around the country). The teacher just teaches this set lesson, requiring no preparation. I saw one such lesson plan and it had a variety of tasks, seemed quite boring, but still using the communicative approach. |
