has anyone who's bought a uk laptop please reassure me there are no problems using it in Chile?
problems like current, plugs, or other types of compatibility?

has anyone experience of using one as a tv?

i'd rather buy one out there in september but going from what i've seen on www.tecno.cl amd the other store someone posted, pcs seem to be about 20% more expensive in chile than in uk.

sorry for my neverending stream of questions. i thinkthey're about to stop any time now

I bought a laptop in colombia and even though the voltage was different is was no problem, all I had to do was buy an adapator (400 pesos). I'm currently using VTR broadband which is bundled as a package deal tv, internet and phone for 28 000 pesos.

I hope this helps a bit. I haven't travelled with my laptop since i arrived in March so i don't know what kind of hassles you'd have to go through to get your laptop through customs.

ps
just bought a very nice laptop here in santiago and I found it affordable.

cheers
Diana

you know when i said i would stem the flow of questions...
i was lying Twisted Evil
