Hi guys.
If my questions have already been covered on this site, please humour me, Im in need of succinct and germane info.
my plan is to fly into bangkok from the UK, relax for a few days then push on into China in order to do the legwork to uncover one of the DECENT jobs I've occasionally seen mentioned here. there is very little being advertised here or on TEFL.com worth applying for and none of the schools I've tried to contact have replied to me ( presumably this is one of those 'cultural differences' Ive heard about - jus' kidding folks , its par for the course with every language school I ever worked for; cant be bothered to contact you til you walk in the door then... 'whoopee , can you cover a class this afternoon?')
Is there any beaurocracy i'm not taking into account that will stop me coming in on a tourist VISA,lining up a job, going out then coming back in again to work?
If not, how easy will it be to get a tourist VISA for China in Bangkok?
Any advice would be muchly appreciated.
Ta.

I don't see why you could not get a tourist visa from the Chinese embassy in Bangkok.
Question: where willk you fly from there?

It likely will be HONG KONG; as you know you won't need a VISA for HONG KONG nor for MACAU (direct flights from Bangkok). .
In HONG KONG, it is very easy to get all manner of visas - you might opt for a six month, multiple-entry visa. That should be long enough for you to tour China and find a suitable place and good employer.
Note: some provinces do not allow holders of tourist visas to be hired. You may have to exit the Mainland with an invitation letter, get your visa cancelled in HK and apply for a new one as specified by your employer.
