What's the best credit card to have when traveling abroad? I'm basicly looking for one that's accepted in a lot of places and one that will hopefully give me a good deal on air miles for plane tickets. Thank you.

of course, MasterCard and Visa are the most widespread, i have seen.

If you want a credit card with a CHinese bank, good luck!
CitiBank is the largest issuer of credit cards to foreigners in China, a friend at The Fed told me.
My bank, Bank of China told me i must reside in one place 3 (or 5) years before i can apply. So i must wait another year, or 3. ??

Try the Capital One with No Hassle Miles. Unlike most rewards cards, there's no annual fee, but I never tried exchanging the points for miles, so I don't really know (yet) if there's really "no hassle".

Also, Capital One (if you're coming from the States at least) does not charge any extra fees for using the card overseas (unlike CitiBank and Bank of America which both charge 3% on top of your purchase).
