Hi everyone.
I plan to teach English in a language school in Warsaw next september. Could someone tell me if it is difficult to get a job as an English teacher in a private school in Warsaw with just a Tefl qualification and a Arts degree. I have no experience teaching English, would i need to get some experience before travelling to Warsaw? What would be the best method of gaining employment as an English teacher?
Im also thinking of purchasing an apartment in Warsaw. The apartment i have my eye on is located in the Bialoleka district of Warsaw, is this an ok part of Warsaw? and how far is this from the centre of the city by metro/tram??
Sorry for all the questions. I would be grateful if someone could answer.
Thanks |

If you are here in person in late August, it will be very easy to get a job even with no experience. You could get yourself some experience teaching at a summer camp in England for July if you wanted to, probably wouldn't hurt to have even a month of experience.
I tend to think that the best way of getting a job is emailing a few schools in early June with your CV and trying to arrange some interviews before you head to Poland. Then come here in late August, put your suit on and go to hand out CVs and then make follow-up calls.

By Metro? About three or four years I guess. They haven't built the line up there yet? But tram? Maybe 30 minutes but that's just a guess, I never go that far from the city centre. The neighbourhood is fine but a bit of a dormitory and child-rearing zone. Lots of new buildings (and so owner occupied which means fewer people in city owned housing which means slightly fewer drunks in the area). |
