I have encountered anything from a phone call as soon as you hit the "send"button to months of silence. That is if they even want you. If they don't, you could end up like some people I know who got dumped by their partners and sat by the phone hoping for a change of heart . I'm sure that's not your case though. Seriously, it all boils down to how desperate they are in filling a given position.
BTW, if you give more details about your credentials, background, and the type of job you applied for, many here will be able to guesstimate the answer to your question much easier. Good luck. |

hak-can I ask which employer it is? That's par for course. And grande formage is right-they might call you next week, and say they need you the following day. Good planning is not a common trait in this job market. |

I worked for Sabis, Hak, and though they probably need you, I think your qualifications deserve a better audience. They are low-paying for the UAE, you would have to share accommodation, and it's also not an ideal place to work. Have you applied to the Higher Colleges of Technology? I would steer you towards the British schools for primary and HCT for teaching uni students. |

Some schools will hired mid-year, Hak, so if you're looking to move sooner than later, it's not out of the question. |

hak, heres something to consider: if your application was as riddled with typos and misspellings as your posts here, it might explain why you havent heard anything and likely never will hear anything. |

Ouch-ESL teachers are a tough crowd. Better start dotting my 'i's' and crossing my 't's' on this thread. Literally. |
