hi there

i signed the GEOS contract about a week and a half ago so i presume they are sending my application off for the VISA now.

To cut to the chase, I no longer want to go as I've been offered a job in my home country that I feel would be better for me at this moment in my life. Also, with my career plans (med school), it would make it much easier if I were to stay here and apply to schools rather than being in Japan and trying to apply to schools here while I'm there.

What should i do?!?! I've already signed the contract (but only a week ago). Will they sue me if I tell them I can't go??? Will I have to pay them back some sum of money?! And if so, how much money would I owe them? What will they do? Will they not do anything at all? Will they not let me cut the contract?

I feel really lost and confused about what I want.

Please help. If I cut the contract now, perhaps there won't be too large of a penalty as I only just the signed the contract.

Any comments would help. Thank you.

I doubt they have sent the Visa off for processing yet.

Don't think the can/will sue you. But you won't be able to work for them in the future, should you end up coming to Japan.

They have plenty of candidates on the back burner, so you are not going to stuff things up for them ( in spite of what they might say).

Take it easy, good luck with med-school.

It should be fine. Just let them know asap. They rather you break the contract now than a few weeks before the training session. Good luck with everything.

Your contract takes effect as soon as you land in Japan and you have a one year work visa in your passport.

A contract is not valid until you actually arrive in the country.

Tell them you have a change of heart and and have decided not to go to japan. theres not much they cna do to you and they certainly wont sue you as you havent cost them anything except a bit of time.
