How about the time limits of the RPF, huh? All I've ever had has been a year-long one that got renewed each year with each contract. However, we always hear that the length of an RPF is determined by the length of your contract. So, theoretically, if you had a contract for three years you'd be able to get an RPF for three years and not need to renew it. Anybody ever tried or heard of that? My school was saying that wanted to look into doing that this year. I heard rumors that RPF's can be renewed for up to five years at one time depending on your contract. FEC's, too. That would take alot of stress off my shoulders. |

Well, the college I'm at initially offered me a 1 year contract, however, when I arrived they asked if I would be interested in staying for 2 rather than 1 year. I said yes as it IS a good place and the FAO is fabulous. When we went to get medicals the other day he said it was good for the 2 years, I wouldn't have to repeat everything next year and because of the contract I would get a RP for 2 years. I'm sure if I renew the contract it will be easy to renew the RP as well, though updated medicals may be needed. |

I just moved from Hefei to Xian and my visa is for 11 months only as well as my FEC. My new school paid the 400 RMB fee. If it was for one year, I would have to pay 400 as well. |

Mine is for two years. When I got it I asked the same question you did, they told me that its at the discretion of the PBS, or FAO (I fogot which) but that most will do it for the school, they just pay a higher price. |
