Leigh and I were thinking it's high time to visit a Korean Kareoke club. There just so happens to be one in Mexico City's illustrious Zona Rosa.
What say you to Saturday, September 30th, roundabout 8 PM at Zubi Cantabar, corner of Hamburgo and Florencia? |

If you'd perfer warmer (and possibly wetter) climes, how about the ANUPI conference in Acapulco that weekend. I hear there are some fanatistic speakers lined up.   |

Yeah, but can they sing "Come Sail Away" after 6 or 7 Cuba libres?
Acapulco is intriguing...I'd like to have one of these get togethers outside of DF sometime. |

Hm.. I usually feel quite envious that I can't attend these get togethers. But this time, it gives me great joy to say that I would rather stick pins in my eyes than go to anything involving karaoke. Uuuuurrrrrghhhhh. shudder.

If you heard me singing you would ban me from future posts. I'm with lozwich, karaoke is a type of torture for me. I would still support this, but I've got a good old Canadian BBQ that Saturday! I'll let you have a beer and warble something for me  |

| We're trying to alternate between naco and fresa locales for outings. Sat Sept 30th should be naco. Something in late October will be fresa. I was think of a Naco November at the Lucha Libre. |

I can't think of any suggestions for September.
End of October, how about a fresa costume party for Halloween? Fresas are more into the American tradition of Halloween than the more naco tradition of D�a de los Muertos, right?
For November the lucha libre . . . and then invite the wrestlers to go along to a karaoke bar afterwards. A few beers in those guys, hand them a microphone with The Kumbia Kings or Los Tigres del Norte for backup . . . could prove to be a night that would be hard to forget.
. . . just a thought. |

I showed them to my student worker here in the lab and she feels they do just fine to teach the word "naco" to gringos. ji ji ji ji |
