So, moved to Istanbul. Good apt. Kucukyalı not bad. JOB HUNTING HEADACHE! The job scene isn't what it used to be. Sad

I have 8 years of experience. I am rather handy at making materials for teaching (I use Corel Graphics Suite). I would love a job with a firm producing worksheets, text books...

Someone throw me a job or a bone...or 32 kuruş so I can buy a loaf of bread from Gima.

Hi - check the jobsboard - there is one advertised as "Native English Speaker - Istanbul". It sounds similar to what you are looking for.

so why is it hard to find a job these days? i noticed the same thing. are there just so many people willing to live in turkey these days.....more than before? i'm wondering why then is there so many ads on this job board. Does anyone think making the schools pay to view resumes on this site has really put a monkey wrench into things?

The job board has no effect on the crappy TEFL job market in Turkey.
The small, cheap non-chain outfits are too tight and ignorant to advertise anywhere that costs money.

The job resume site is awful. It is all 22 year old Canadians and couples where one has no degree.

There don't seem to be many jobs going. They aren't advertised, anyway. I can't even think which schools to try. Some schools have such bad reputations that I won't try them. I guess I have been in Turkey too long and know too much. Sigh.

I think EF is still hiring, though dont know if the suadiye branch near you is. Theyre not bad- I was happy there, aside from the lack of holidays and lower pay (compared to the unis, but that is a whole other situation).

I tired Ef. Although I found it very professional and the pay pretty good (26 lira hour), we couldn't reach an agreement on a part time schedule. Pity really. Good place I think.
