good question...I was wondering if they people use waxing in Japan, if they do...how much does it cost? I do my own waxing in the states because I think that I can do mine better than someone else can and it saves money becasue I have my own machine and wax and junk. I didnt know if I should bring that with me to Japan or just depend on getting waxed there...so adding to the previous question...do they wax in japan? if so, how much does it cost? if I bring my wax to japan can I start my own business? haha. |

I don't know about the Osaka area (but I was glad to see this question as I do need that information very shortly and I hope someone knows!) but I know in Tokyo I saw prices running around 6,000 yen at shops which were admittedly trendy and catering to a gaijin crowd. That said, I never got this logic since here (and this appears to be true for most people in the west that I know?) my waxers have always been vietnamese or korean and could hardly carry on a conversation in either language I am fluent in with me so I don't know why I'd suddenly need a gaijin run salon in Japan?! I guess it would be helpful to be able to tell them "yes I really do mean EVERYTHING." and "Please do not feed me some line about how that's dangerous, just take it ALL off."
I don't know the requirements for being a waxer in Japan. Good idea tho. |

alright! Thanks for the replies. Well, if waxing's not really on offer, next best thing>
Does anyone know where I can buy the "stuff"... I sort of just need the wax. The strips I have. I hate doing it myself!! but anyway |

From what I hear, people aren't into waxing here. I asked a few of my Japanese friends where a good place to go for an eyebrow waxing was and the looked at me like I was crazy. They told me that in Japan you must shave or pluck. I have heard that in big cities there are places to go for a wax but I don't know any details. |

There's Room 806 in Hiroo, Tokyo and the website is: http://www.room806.com/
The waxer there is great--in fact everyone there is great!! China is the best hairstylist too...in case you need that...
And there's:
Nail Bee in Roppongi: http://www.nailbee.com/english/e.htm
and
Boudiour. Go here for map: http://gmap.jp/shop-1082.html
and here for prices: http://www.englishok.jp/shops/boudoir/map.php
and I don't know the number to Sakura Nail Salon in Yokosuka but if you call the Room 806 salon you can get it from them. The owner there also owns the Sakura salon and another salon near Zama city.
Hope it helps!!! (I love a good wax too!)
