Anyone have any information on Bai Da Wei? They promise a lot and I'm
wondering if they can actually deliver. |

Yes David does run the school and it does have branches in diffrent locations in Changchun..as to what they can deliver..I have known both good and bad about this school..do you have any speciffic questions...the folks that work there are right nice for the most part..and seem to spend a lot of their spair time together...so I would say most of the people working there are ok..there was a Chinese partner..working with David..that may have been a sore spot for some working there..but haveing never met him..I could not comment on that..once more Changchun is a cold and I do mean cold climate..I am not saying you cant function at 40 below..but it does make living there a bit unpleasent...for the most part..I would think that David delivers..but this is a childrens school and the work load will change with the seasons and as an employee you are expected to carry extra work (such as before the holidays) to make time for your time off... |

I have been working for Baidawei school in Chanchun for 9 months now. I recommend it highly.
1) You will always be paid on the 12th of each month
2) The school will bend over backwards to help you adjust to China
3) They will not cheat you out of your bonus (I've known people who left early and were paid some of it pro-rata)
4) The staff are very close knit and we all support and help each other
5) You will be insulated from parent complaints like "He's not tall enough", "She's too tall" etc.
6) If you get ill (as I have) they will take you to hospital, pay the bills, and use their Guanxi to ensure your visit is as efficient and easy as possible.
The school has it's faults, most of which you would experience in any other language school in China, the difference is that you will not experience any of the downright criminal behaviour you hear about fropm other schools - no intimidation, no duties other than those outlined in your contract, no theft of your earnings.
David is a really good guy.
My name is Stu, ask him for my email address and I will be happy to corrrespond with you about any questions you have about the school.
PS. As per the previous post, Changchun is not an easy place to live! |

Isn't it nice to hear of a decent school instead of the opposite? I wonder if they're among the minority? |
