I'm hesitant to say that you don't need a return ticket as I don't want to be responsible if you got turned away. However, if i was in your position I would just think of a plausible story in case they ask and not worry about it too much. If you read the other threads on visa issues you will see that Argentine immigration isn't the strictest.

Usually the advice in response to this question is to buy a return ticket that is refundable and then cancel it after you arrive. So if you want peace of mind you can go that route.

As for anecdotal evidence, I have never been asked for a return ticket when entering a country - the only time I've needed to show it was part of the various paperwork necessary when applying for a visa in advance.

But I think, as has been discussed a zillion times on this site (just do an f***ing search!!!!) it's not the Argentine immigration that ask for these requirements, I think that fact has been well and truly established by now, but the airline companies that ask for it! They are the ones that are liable if they let people on the planes without the appropriate paperwork.
But as I said a quick search will give you all the information you need on the subject.

As Sheena so politely mentioned, this topic has been discussed before in the following threads:

It looks like there have been enough people given hassles at the airport that it might be safer indeed to buy a refundable ticket that you can cancel afterwards.
