no need!
Just put CelTa. How many years you taught and maybe where. Other languages if you can teach them or you look like you are blowing your own trumpet too much. Just my advice |

LOL.
Deicide, my suggestion is that you should start another thousand threads and starting dating jazz1974. You two are made for each other. Rewrite that horrid CV. Put your name, schooling and education on. Japanese don't give a flying hoot about good latin and ancient greek reading abilities. Look at the FAQ on how to edit your CV.
Suggestions:
Qualifications: University, CELTA
Teaching Experience: ....and spell university correctly
Make it short and sweet. |

Hey genius university is spelled correctly...in German as I attended a German uni but the German characters aren't represented on these computers. You know what, you are a really nasty fellow but I know your kind and I have seen your kind a million times...vets of some specific country seeing themselves as having the right to bash and tear anyone apart they feel like...happens on Korean websites and obviously here too...I never bashed anyone for asking honest questions concerning Europe on relevant forums...and I think it is the mark of someone with little character who does such...and you, Mr. Pleasant are demonstrably someone with miniscule character as I have seen you bash everyone indiscriminately over and over...get a new hobby...or do you get sexual pleasure from it? I would love to chuck you into the middle of some country that you know nothing about and see how well you fare...that would be classic...I am calling you out on your bollocks and bs...I am sure you are knowledgeable about Japan, just a very Japan knowledgeable git.... |

Deicide, how have you had time to do so many things? My american resume with frills and retard additions would never be that long. According to what I have read on here it is really long, but in my opinion it is very impressive.

Deicide,
If you get a job in Tokyo, you may find that there is a market for Latin, Greek and German. There are foreign nationals and Japanese who are keenly interested in languages other than English.
In order not to draw fire from others, I'd say don't post your complete CV here and edit that avatar. It's too large to display.
Too bad you stooped to the rude level of the other people in this thread. Otherwise, you seem cool. |

Deicide:
Although Tokyo Liz has given you an optimistic assessment of Latin and Ancient Greek's usefulness in Tokyo, the point is that you have stated having reading ability in these languages. Clearly you won't be competent enough to teach it and therefore it can only be a necessary skill if your employment requires you to read Latin and Ancient Greek texts. I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb when I say that those jobs are almost non-existent, even in Tokyo.
You do need to condensce that CV of yours. The rude responses you have received from other posters may not seem justified but they do reflect some of the thoughts of potential employers put off by someone they may think is showing off.
I know someone applying for a job in EFL who gave a detailed description of their physics PhD in mass spectroscopy on their CV. I hadn't got a clue what it was about and it was clearly irrelevant and it took six months before the person in question found a bottom-of-the-barrel eikaiwa job.
Keep it simple and relevant. |
