Having lived in Beijing for several years, I know how difficult it can be to find a credible language school to work for, with horror stories of non-streamed classes, late payments and uncooperative managers abound, but I'm glad to say that they're not all like that.
I worked for the UK Express Course, based at Beijing International Studies University (or Beijing Second Foreign Language University), for 3 years and would recommend it to anyone. The Chinese staff and managers went out of their way to help the teachers (and actually cared about the quality of education and content of the classes, rather than just the profit), most of the textbooks we used were ones published in Britain (no horrendous locally published textbooks) and classes were streamed with a maximum capacity of 25 students. It was a great place to develop my teaching skills, a pleasant working environment and a wonderful 3 years of my life. |
