I am currently working nights/weekends at a language school in China, but am thinking about picking up a second job at a university or public school during the day to supplement my pay. The language school helped me acquire my residence/work permit. Im wondering if the universities/public schools are even allowed to hire me because another company helped me with my visa. Can I do this? Anyone here have any experience with this? |

Alot of people do, just be sure that there isn't a clause in your contract that says you can't work someplace else or sign a third party contract. Other thing to consider is from the schools side, ultimately they are responsible for you, if something happens to you at the other school location (some accident for example) then your school might find itself in a strange situation.
I think many schools will let you work outside if they can't offer you opportunities to earn more..

I see this on this board often..but not sure what anyone means..what kind of legal liability does the school actually have...meaning if there is insurance..than the schools have coverage..if your commit a crime..are they held responsible and what outcome is derived from this responsibility...if they are truly responsible..then how can they just let someone go..fired or laid off...and who would the responsibility go to ..in this event..what about vacations..if your injured or involved in a criminal action..what actually penalties does the school suffer... |
