Hi everyone,

I have two offers - one for teaching kindy classes with a little of buxiban, or one for teaching just buxiban (fewer hours, and mainly in the evening).

Which age do you prefer to teach, and more importantly, why? I think teaching kindy would be fun, but I'm just a little worried that incessantly chasing around after kids that young will be exhausting and annoying, instead of enjoyable.

Buxiban = what age? I know that buxiban is something in Taiwan schools, but I don't know what, exactly.

I've found that young kids or older teens are fine - it's the 10 to 13 bracket that are little bratty monsters! Of course, now I only teach college-age adults: they're much more pleasant to work with.

sorry, buxiban = 5-15 years old at this school (thought that was explained in the thread title, but hey, it was early!).

5 year olds are still obnoxious children yes? well then, do you want to spend all your time with obnoxious children or a little time with obnoxious children and a little with teenagers that either don't care or think you are 'funny'? Smile

Six of one, half-dozen of the other. It's either spend all of one's time with obnoxious five year-olds or spend part of one's time with obnoxious teenagers.

well, i've taught both....
and i'd rather have a mixture, for sure. right now i'm teaching tiny tots...and they are really trying. wow.
it was much better to have a variety...some tiny tater-tots, and some a little older kids, some with more english....who can catch on to games and jokes and make your life easier.

yeah. thats just me....

Variety. Go for the variety. I've done both. It is much less taxing on the nerves to know you can get away from the little ones, at least for some part of the day. Then when your tired of the spoilt teenagers, you can get something different from the little ones again.
