I still can't use "life" as a verb, no matter how hard I try.

The problem lies in the trying. It's the doing that matters.

if you can use dialogue as a verb you're probably halfway there (and you should be shot).

If you do "life" then yes there is a verb. But that is do not life. BTW do you use other tenses of "life" like "lifed" and "liffen"? My students were a bit confused when I told them "life" was a verb. They are in Junior High School and I was really surprised that they suddenly went stock still and stopped beating up the nerd kid in mid punch to look at me like this Confused or like this Shocked and say "No, it's noun!". I shook my head and said "Oh, no that is a common misatke, young fools. "life" is a verb, NOT A NOUN". They now try to do this with all words though. Only yesterday they asked me if they can "death the nerd kid". Confused
