Hi all,
Does anyone know a good school in Bangkok to learn Thai?
I speak a little Thai, but only enough to get by, would be nice to learn more.
Cheers |

^ hi gypsywoman
Scroll way down to FAQ 12 of Appendix B on the Index;
there's an updated list of 'Learn Thai' schools
& some free online learning resources.
Of the schools on the Master Index,
I recall Union Language School
got high marks from people:
Union Language School
http://www.unionlanguage.com/
Offers Thai courses on many levels;
Classes are small and instruction is intensive,
Writing instruction begins on the third level.

As usual, your a legend Kent, thanks for the info.
I get sick of being in meetings and not understanding what they are all talking about haha. The little I do understand, makes it very obvious you need to know the language. At least then you can pretend to not know what they are saying about you and still be in the game haha.
Its all fun isn't it?
Thanks heaps |

| gypsy, let us know how the Thai lessons go. I love learning and speaking Thai. I like the way it sounds. Nice thing about Thailand, is that you can use people everywhere to help you with pronunciation etc. Even if you butcher it, people will still smile (maybe laugh) and be forgiving. Have you thought about a language exchange? I've done that too. |

Hi WE
Yeh me too, its a nice language to learn and yeh, the people make it fun.
All the thai I know has been taught to me by everyone from market stall owners, to kids working on the beach in Pattaya, makes it fun.
But its easier to learn if you understand the language structure itself, rather than just learning it as you go. Thats the part I want to learn, I think my ability to learn will be enhanced by that. I'm not good at learning language from a book, so I think the classes will be better.
I'll let you know how it goes, I'd like to be able to sit in on some classes and see how they teach, as I've been to some and they are not so good.
Mostly in Australia though and i'm the only woman in the classes, surrounded by blokes, shocker there lol |
