Hi guys
I am intersted in teaching in the Europe and am looking into what placed would suit me.I am after a place with Interesting p/l to meet,an oppurtunity to travel,a scenic place where i could have some oppurtunities to maybe place some tennis or soccer, join a wrestling club or if im very lucky get some dance lessons.
I am planning to stay for a 3 year period and would like to save some money as well as have some experiences.I have a BA,Dip Ed ,and Ma from Melbourne University as well as 5 years experience teaching English and other subjects to high school students in Australia.I would like to find something that pays at between 3-4 thousand Australian dollars a month.
I would like to know which of the European countries could meet my needs.I was also wondering if the INternational/ Private schools in the area pay better then the ESL jobs.I would prefer to teach something other then English and have experience in the Humanities fields mainly.

Sounds like you got a nice CV there mate...unless you have European ancestry though (specifically Greek, Irish or British) you can forget about getting any job even with your qualifications and a 2,000+ Euro salary is really hard to come by in Europe. I would suggest Japan. With all your qualifications you would get a great job over there. On the other hand I would look into the UK if I were in your position. Assuming you are under 30 (by the sound of it though you aren't) you can work there for a year or two as a member of the commonwealth. Sure you could look into private schools and there are enough of them, Switerzland, France and Germany come to mind but those are also expensive countries. Also if you do not speak any other (European) languages on a communicative level or better it will lessen your chances. As I said try Japan or maybe Taiwan or if you are reallllllllyyyyyyy desperate try Korea but you are looking for a salary that is just so rare on the continent...like I said try the UK...btw there are tons of threads here about the work restrictions imposed on Non-EU folk...I would have me a gander.... Wink
