Hi, I will be arriving in Hong Kong soon to apply for a 1 year multi entry Chinese Visa and also a Russian Visa. I will be there approx. 3 nights and I would really like to know some super budget accomodation. I prefer a hotel but a hostel is also okay as long as it has a single room. Any and all suggestions are welcomed and thank you all in advance. I am sure some of you have found some real bargains in Hong Kong.

Backpackers flock to Tsimshatsui in Kowloon though that part is very crowded and overrun by scum, pickpockets and shysters of all nationalities.
Budget accom can be found at No. 44-54, Nathan Rd., Chungking Mansions.
This is a complex of high-rises next to the Holiday Inn hotel in Tsimshatsui. You can walk there from the Star Ferry Pier or the KCR terminus within 10 minutes.
You have a choice ofX hundred guesthouses that afford you minimum privacy and maximum exposure to the international backpacker jetset. Buy one million worth of U.S. yuans camouflaged under ink by a Nigerian money launderer and only pay 50'000...see whether you make a profit!

A little less mercantile is the Mirador Tower a block north of the Chungking Mansions; guesthouses can be found from floor 3 on. On the 3rd floor is an Indian-owned guesthouse that has dorm beds for HK 50 and doubles for 160.

I prefer the Youth Hostel over in HK Island, Victoria Road, Mt. Davis (Western District). Shuttle buses take you from the Shuntak Centre in SHeungwan to the guesthouse for free.
Dorm beds: 95, doubles: 240
