I was hoping to work in Ambato for 2 months but that did not work out so I am just going to take a vacation in South America for about 25 days. Where should I go? I have been to Cusco, Peru and Lima Peru. I have also been to La Paz, Bolivia and Salvador, Brazil.

So what is the best place left. I plan to spend the entire 25 days in the same country. Argentina, Venezuela, or Ecuador?

Ecuador is known for being a place where you can see a very wide variety of things in a rather small place. Jungle, High Sierra, fertile valleys, coast, even the Galapagoes if you want to shell out the cash. Of your three choices I vote for Ecuador. There is loads to see and in 25 days, you can see a lot of it.

But I wonder why you aren't considering Chile? You could take an amazing adventure from North to South in that amount of time. Chile is enchanting.

And why just one country? If you choose Chile, you could easily include Mendoza, Argentina and some of the Argentine Patagonia, returning to Sanitago for your flight out.

I think that would be a good time to go to Patagonia. The wildlife sanctuaries (specifically, the penguin sanctuaries) should be full of little critters.

For me, I've been to Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Now I have my heart set on Colombia.. Cartegena in particular.. but the Carribbean coast seems ideal.. curious about Cali, etc. as well. Maybe 25 days might be too much.. maybe.

Another region which would be ideal for 25 days is the Northeast of Brazil. Manaus, Sao Luis, Maceio, Fortaleza, Lencois, etc.

Of all the places I'd been before.. Brazil intrigued me the most.. but I liked the small microchosm of Ecudaor - coastline, mountains, and amazon all compacted in one place. Downside these days is I've heard the crime is out-of-control.. it was comfortable for me when I stayed there a month in 1998.

Still though.. Ecuador is a lot more like Bolivia and Peru.. and if you've already been to those places.. Ecuador wouldn't be significantly different.. as the other countries in South America would be.
