hi. does anyone know if there is a time restriction on coming back into japan after your visa expires and you leave? the reason i ask this is because my working visa expires next month and if i havent gotten all my things in order before that time, i will have to go and come back again. im hoping that wont happen, but if it does, i will have to come back as a tourist and stay for the 3 months to clear up some things.
im just worried that after i leave, i will need to stay out for a period of time before they let me back in. i was thinking of just going to taiwan or a close place like that for a few days and then come back. has anyone had to do this? or had to experience this before??
thanx guys |

You can come back on a tourist visa!!! No problemo!
Oh but maybe you have to go through tthe visitiing line at immigaration, not the Japanese passsport holders/resdients line. I think....Also, you won't use your re-entry permit. When you leave Japan make sure you do it before the working visa expires or you will have mega-huge problems Then maybe the visa people will stamp it "expired" or sometthing. Then you just have ordinary passport status. |

Usually if you have reapplied for another work visa (or extension) immigration will issue a temporary visa so that you can continue towork while you are in processing (also of course allows you back in while avoiding a tourist visa). But ask immigration to make sure when you reapply (plenty of time, it's only the 8th). |
