Teaching in LA isn't like Asia. Finding a job beforehand and getting a visa can be difficult. I was just wondering if any of you have used placement agencies to get jobs. And what you think about placement agencies in LA? Any good ones out there?

Never used one, myself. And most schools I know don't work with them, so for Ecuador, I would think it's a waste of time.

There's an organisation working locally that helps teachers arrange visas and TESOL training, and to look for jobs; but this takes place once they're here. Pretty good service, as far as I can see...not cheap, but a very full service package.

There are a few other "job placement services" that list Ecuador on their websites, but as far as I can see, they just send your resume out, nothing else. (And through some of them, I've received some interesting resumes...for people who want to work in Italy, in Argentina, in Mexico...)

All the best,
Justin

What's the name of the organisation?

I'm asking about job placement agencies, because I get a couple of emails a week asking me about jobs in Peru. I've helped some of them and was wondering maybe there's a need for a placement agency in Peru.
