Hi everybody! Im leaving the country on short notice. What can I do with
a car that has more than 2 months shaken left and is still good to drive?
Its 13 years old so not easy to sell.
What would happen if I just left it somewhere and disappeared?
Please advise! |

Take it to a scrap yard, no one will buy a car that old. Perhaps if a year of shaken was left on it , then maybe. At least that is true from around where I live. |

I don't about "scrapping" it. That will cost you money.
I picked up a 13-year old car from my auto mechanic earlier this year for free. It had a couple of months shaken on in and then I paid another 120,000yen for another two years of shaken and insurance. If you can't give it away, then perhaps you can bring it in to a local mechanic and see if they want it.
My car was, and is, in good condition. No rust and only 50,000km. I don't know if you'll have the same luck but you never know. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but i thought they changed the law a year ago about paying to get rid of a car. It might be free because everyone now pays a recycling tax or something like that when they get insurance. Too many abandoned cars.
Every area of Japan is different. Where I live, lots of old cars and you would never get anything for it here. A friend had a 3 year car and had to move and only got 100,000 fir it. It was an Opel, and in mint condition. |
