Greetings,
I just moved to ZheJiang Province in China 4 months ago to be with the woman I love. However, I jumped into the pond without looking first and am now having some trouble finding a job. I figured that since I am a native English speaker, finding a job would be no problem once I got here... I was wrong.
I do not have my Associate's degree from college, yet, and have not started on my TEFL. However, I do want to start the TEFL Course as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scams on the internet and I want to take a legitimate TEFL Online Course that will give me what I need. Any suggestions?
Also, I would really welcome any help of advice as to what I should do. Right now, I am living off my student loan money, which is not a good thing, and I need to get a job. I want to provide a comfortable life for my wife and myself while we both go to school to better ourselves.
Thanks for any advice,
Shawn Wilkes |

INTESOL International has an online course. It's not a scam, but it doesn't have teaching practice. Personally, I think it was a waste of my time and money. If you just need a piece of paper to satisfy a school, then it's ok. |

Honestly, you have to work very hard to not find a job in China. |

Thanks for the information, grwit. I will definitely check it out tonight.
Saint, any tips on how to get started? As I said, in ZheJiang, you need a degree to teach a class or else you and the school both get in trouble. What else can I do? |
