That's easy. Most contracts are late September thru something June. Summertime is not for study. Particularly August - everyone, absolutely everyone, is on holiday.
Waddaya do in the summer? Well, there is summer camp work. You might line up some project or enough private students to survive....but whatever you do, it'll take some extra work and iniative.
