Can anybody recommend tea ceremony teachers, taiko groups or other traditional stuff in Tokyo?
I'll be working there soon, and have free time in the evenings. |

The English language Metropolis magazine often has listings - if you check back through their archives you might turn up an article on this specifically. www.metropolis.co.jp
Also your local government will most likely have a culture centre where such things are conducted - in Japanese. |

Yeah, check at your local ward office ... They have lists of community classes etc ... Otherwise check at Seibu Department store ... they also run lots of arts, crafts and culture course . You can get their catalogue... The courses tend to be a bit pricey though.

Azarashi, thanks for the lead on Seibu. I didn't know they offered stuff like that. |

I checked out Seibu in Ikebukuro ... But I imagine every Seibu would have the same stuff. They really do have LOTS of courses, but I did think that they were quite expensive.
