Seriously, how big of a taboo is this? Sometimes I find myself doing it anyway, just because it's so comfortable. No one's ever said anything to me. But is this something Thai people really take seriously, especially in an area like Phuket? |

I have never heard that crossing your legs would be taboo. The only thing to make sure of is that your feet aren't pointing at people. Don't put your feet up on a table or chair. I don't see how crossing your legs is comfortable though. I find it extremely uncomfortable but if you have long legs, then I guess it wouldn't hurt much. Women at work wearing skirts cross their legs while sitting so I don't see why men can't do it. |
