During the summer I had additional time to work and sought a short-term teaching assignment. I found one at the New Learning Academy in Guadalupe.

La administradora, Flor Rojas Ch, was very professional. Her assistant, Mario, was very helpful. Their offices have classrooms on site, a good work prep room, teaching curriculum and materials, and an arrangement to photocopy stuff across the street.

The nice aspect was the teacher prep at the office. For a new person, it gives one the opportunity to talk with other teachers with more experience. They provide good Costa Rican coffee, a microwave and kitchen area in the back, and have a nice feel to the place.

They have another location in downtown San Jose, on Calle 7 & Avenida 1.

Their pay rates are competitive, but vary depending upon the contract with the customer.
