Hello all,
I'm planning to move to South America next year (most likely Chile) and I'd really like to find a university job if possible. Can anyone advise me if, and how, it can be done?
I have a BA (in languages) and MPhil (History) from a well-known UK university, I have a couple of publications in my field, and I have some teaching experience: I've been tutoring English literature and academic writing in my spare time for about a year and a half, and I also spent eight months teaching English in Paris. What I don't have is a TEFL qualification, but I can acquire one if necessary... I was thinking about the Cactus TEFL one in Santiago. I also have fluent Russian and French - I wonder if there's any demand for either of those?
Any advice at all would be great. This forum's great, by the way, I've already done a lot to combat my own ignorance! |
