I've gotten about 15 requests on findateacher.net, and I've had about 550 profile views. I've been on there 440 days. Of those 15, about 10 I've taught throughout the time I've been here. What's that, about 2% (I'm not too good with math)? Not too bad, I suppose, considering it's free to post, and some of those students have referred me to their friends who didn't view my profile.
Findateacher.net also has their "Tattle and Win" section. If a company contacts you as an individual, and you notify the website (since they charge higher fees to companies), you get 5000 Yen. I didn't get my money though. Some lady contacted me, and when I replied, they asked me to come to their office in Shinagawa. I didn't bother with the tattle tale part, until the manager kept ringing my phone one afternoon, and when I answered, he said, "Hello. We are looking for a teacher of the English."
I reported them, but they never paid up, so I never got my reward money. A fistful of nothing for me. |
