After being dismayed about having to come back to school last SUNDAY and teaching a 6 day week, I am delighted to say that today (Thursday) and tomorrow, our school is having their annual sports meet. That means I had to go in this morning and march around the field with my kids, bade them good-bye, went to my classroom to catch up on a few things, and now I'm off for almost 4 glorious days! Thank you school for doing this - - if you can have another in May sometime to offset the May Day holiday rigamarole, I'd really appreciate it! Smile

One of my happiest moments at the mill last year.

I came to an empty class. After waiting a few minutes thinking that the vacant chairs may be some kind of test, I finally gave the FAO a call.

"Where is everyone?"

"Oh, sorry. There's sports meet today"

Graduate students forced to compete in a sports meet: a ludicrous scenario, but I didn't complain.

Smile I am enjoying a 4-day break too, Kev! But, it is not because of sports. Our college Freshmen students started their delayed army training yesterday, for two weeks. I still have Sophomore classes to teach, but I do not see them again until Monday morning. The two days free-of-classes for our campus Sports Meet will be scheduled in November sometime. As 'this is China', no one can tell me yet when those actual days will be!

Happy Kev - unhappy students doing their sports with less enthusiasm than they do their homework...

So you will probably now have to have classes at 6 am for 3 consecutive weekends to make up for the days missed.
