It's been more than two years since I've had an interview and I have one this week.

What are the trends for EFL interview questions these days?

I remember some interviews a few years back where I was asked about my strengths and weaknesses, and that seemed to be one of the standard questions in every interview I went to.

But what are the 'standard' questions now? I know this is very general but any tips are appreciated. The job is teaching mainly one-to-one business English.

What kind of school is it? I ask as questions can range from,
'Do you have a pulse?' and 'When can you start?' to a full psychological assessment.

A few I've had recently:
What's been your biggest challenge in X job?
What are your strengths/weaknesses?
Why do you teach?
What are your best qualities as a teacher?
What do you need to improve?

I don't think they've changed that much in the last few years.

Good luck!

Thanks TLWH. It's a school that concentrates on teaching business English and they have tailor-made course for each student so they mainly do one-to-one classes. They have a really good reputation and charge a small fortune for their services. I have a feeling it might be a tough interview so I'm trying to prepare as much as I can. I asked if there was anything I needed to take / prepare I was told to prepare nothing.

If anyone thinks of anything else please let me know.

Thanks.

Here are a couple of links to things I've written to address the interview and first jobs. Might be more a refresher to you than anything whizbang though, and both tend towards Latin America.

Great links, Guy. The second one was really useful...it's just what I need, a refresher!

Thanks so much!
