My school asked for a copy of every page in my passport. Is that standard? I can't see any reason why it would matter to me but why would the government want it?

Thx, Cat

Probably so they can see if you have any other Taiwan stamps and whether you have been deported before or what not.

Yeah that is a bit strange, but I'm sure nothing to worry about if there is nothing in there to be worried about. The important pages, obviously are the main identification page, and any page that has visas or immigration stamps in it. When applying for my work visa they just wanted a copy of my ID page and the page with my Visitors Visa in it.

Actually just recieved my Resident Visa & Multiple entry stickers this past Tuesday, and will be recieving my ARC on Tuesday of next week! Surprised Surprised I'm legal!! Woohoo!! Surprised

It's pretty regular. With the regulations changing constantly, it's easier just to copy all the pages and let the government decide which ones they want. When I came to Taiwan 11 years ago, I needed to not only copy every page, but sign every page as well!

Thanks for the answers. The school seems to have a good reputation so I didn't think there was anything nefarious going on, but since I've had to add pages to my passport, there's a lot of pages to copy. I was just curious.

And, as an aside, I'd rather work in a country that screens their teachers than one that thinks alcoholics and pedophiles are an acceptable addition to the teacher pool.
