Tareq,
We are ESL Teachers and mainly give advice on ESL matters in relation to teaching in overseas countries and general ESL teaching.
It might be better for you to try and establish a contact or a friend or an employee in the same company who is already working in Saudi Arabia in a similar job situation to give you advice as it directly relates to your situation.
Also, as teachers, we are from different countries and diverse cultures. Therefore, we all have different ideas about living conditions and lifestyles.
What we tell you might not be relevant to you but someone on this forum could possibly give you an general idea about accommodation.
best of luck |

8000 seems a good salary for someone from your background. Go for it. |

Although I assume you're probably Jordanian, you dont' say what your nationality is. I mention this because - rightly or wrongly - nationality is a very important factor in determining what is an acceptable salary in KSA. So, while 8000 SR would probably be considered quite a good salary for a Jordanian or Syrian - and would be considered pretty generous for an Indian or Philipino - it would be regarded as pretty poor for an Australian or European.
I'm not defending this system, BTW, just pointing out that that's the way things are done around these parts. |

Poor Indians and Philipinos, always are under-estimated and under-paid.
No unions to protect or defend their rights around these parts (ME and Cheikh-Kingdom)!!! |

The country is unjust.
At SBC, Malaz dozens of Jordanian teachers were recruited and their families joined them. Saudi management withheld salaries for months on end. The teachers could not afford to leave and were refused exit visas.
Three foreign teachers from UK and Canada had to fight and argue regularly at month end to be paid salaries and benefits.
Talking to other expats these activities are common. On top of adapting to The Desert with all its quaint customs, regular pay and benefits are not to be taken for granted.
More powerful reasons to just say "NO" to KSA. |
