|
|
Quick question, I will be going to another province, and I just got my health check done a couple weeks ago. Now I have had people I know telling me that I will need to get another one done in the new province, and that the one I just got it is only good in Shanxi where I currently live. I still have to get my visa renewed, and I will be changing schools obviously. So, my question is, is this right, or wrong. I would think a health check in china is good anywhere in China, but thats not what people are telling me, and with as screwy as many of chinas reg's are, I dare not assume anything. Any know the answer. Thanks. |

I had a medical check in Hubei province. When my contract was finished I moved to another province this year and did not have to take another medical. My previous certificate did not expire until after I had started at my current school. My former school just passed the medical certificate details to where I am now. |

Nathan,
As all things are in China, what follows should be taken as "generally speaking".
If you received the orange-faced booklet with your picture in it from the Health Authorities in the province where you are, and if the medical was done within one year of your new contract, generally speaking, even in a different province, you will not be required to retake the medical. Your new employer may not be familiar with this, as was mine, but you simply need to insist and insist again and have them take the medical book to the PSB who are generally more knowledgeable in these matters.
Then and only then, if the PSB refuses the medical should you have to retest. But make sure that it is not the school telling you that the PSB says so but the actual PSB itself. The school will do was is more expeditious for it, meaning have you retested, than attempt to ascertain the correct procedure. If you have any doubts, find a local friend in your new place of employment and ask him or her to accompany you to the PSB. |
