I was lucky enough to get to see New Japan tonight. I wrote a review of the show on the way home.

The hall was pretty large and there was a very decent crowd. Almost full I'd say. People were still buying tickets as the doors were opening. The merchandise table had some hot stuff...I didn't hold back.

The first match was Yujiro vs Tetsuya Naitoh. Good solid match with a lot of hold for hold and counter for counter. The crowd really appreciated the match.

Second match was another singles match, I am not sure who was wrestling, but they had another good solid match that the crowd was getting into.

Third match is when it really started to heat up. An insane 10 man tag with no letup in speed or action from start to finish. Tiger Mask, Ryusuke Taguchi, El Samrai, Wataru Inoue and Kohji Kanemoto vs Milano Collection AT, Prince Devitt, Gedo, Jado and Minoru. Very insane match, lots of dives and high flying action, plenty of 10 man brawling and Tiger Mask absolutely destroyed Milano a few times, brawling outside into the crowd, hurling him through rows of chairs. Tiger's team picked up the win in the end.

Fourth match wasn't as thrilling, but still awesome as it included Riki Choshu. Choshu and Takashi Iizuka vs Naofumi Yamamoto & Manabu Nakanishi. The crowd were very much backing Choshu, and his team came out victorious.

Intermission.

Fifth match of the night was when it took off even further. A 6 man tag match of epic proportions. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Akebono and Yuji Nakata vs Giant Bernard (A-Train of WWE fame), Travis Tomko and Black Strong Machine. The crowd were going CRAZY for Tanahashi. He is definately one of the hottest things going right now. Good match all around, Tomko and Bernard are MASSIVE guys. The big man faceoffs between Akebono and Bernard were great. Tanahashi's side picked up the win.

The match after that kept the crowd on the edge of insanity. Part of the A Block for the 2006 G1 Tag League, Jushin Thunder Liger and Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs Tohru Yano and (not sure). Very awesome match, the crowd were so loud for Liger and Tenzan. I really enjoyed it. Liger absolutely demolished an entire section of seating, and actually fought right out of the building, as did Tenzan. The match ended in a 20 count double countout.

The main event was the one I had been waiting for. Chono! Chono! Chono! The roof lifted off the place. Chono and Shunsuke Nakamura vs Tohgi Makabe and (not sure). Makabe was bleeding during the match, and it was very exciting and brutal. Makabe stole the win by wrapping a chain around his fist and smashing it into Chono's head from the top rope.

All in all it was a very exciting and entertaining show.

I did the traditional thing here for a show review:

Biggest pops:
1. Jushin Liger
2. Masahiro Chono
3. Hiroshi Tanahashi
4. Tiger Mask
5. Riki Choshu

Biggest Heat:
1. Milano Collection AT, as he brought a replica Tiger Mask mask out on a chain, and all of his team spat and farted on it.
2. Tohgi Makabe for the Chono chain shot at the end.
3. Giant Bernard and Travis Tomko when they were up against Akebono or Tanahashi.

People can say what they like about New Japan and how it's in some sort of great terrible decline, but they put on a hell of a show there tonight. It was well worth the money.

I think you meant to post that over here:

(unless of course, there is a large group of puroresu fans in the esl community)

I have been posting it on basically every forum I go to that is related to wrestling/Japan.

I thought it was an alright review. I neglected to mention that I marked out like a screaming b**** for Chono.
