|

Greetings Poland Board from my new home in chilly Chicago:
I would like to know if it is possible to find short-term employment in Poland, say, for a month or a couple of months. A summer / winter camp, that sort of thing. Not to worry, I am not re-thinking my decision to flee China for the safe haven of home, it's actually my brother who wants to know.
He's teaching ESL here and would like to try the real thing. But he's not sure he wants to do a year-long stint. As you know, there are many Poles in the Windy City, and his students always tell him he should go. So naturally I advised him to try the helpful folks over on Dave's.
Any other advice or suggestions about working in Poland would be much appreciated. |

Summer camps abound across most European countries, and Poland is no exception. We were told here over and over again that theres a camp in Borne Sulinowo who will take anyone, so finding work shouldn't be so tough.
Give us a bit more info though - how old is he; what qualifications does he have; is he seriously planning an ESL career or just a summer of fun before signing his life into an office job... |

Hey all, this is actually his brother. Sorry I haven't created an account yet...
Anyways, I'm 23 with a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
I've been teaching ESL at a local community college and elsewhere at a church for about a year and a half.
I teach adults with a few older teenagers (aged 18 or 19).
I am looking to TRY ESL teaching abroad. If I like it, I would certainly be willing to stay longer, but as of right now, I am really looking to see if I like it before commiting myself to anything long term.
Hope that helps! Any advice would greatly be appreciated! |
