Hi, just got to Santiago and about to start trawling round schools. Does anyone have any info about specific schools - good, bad and ugly? |

Hmm, tough time of year to find a job I think as it'll soon be the summer and there's very little work about at that time of year. However, you might pick up a few classes here and there. A trawl through the yellow pages is your best bet, and then print up a load of CVs and spend a few days dropping them off at the various schools.
Alternatively, put an ad in Sunday's El Mercurio and you'll be inundated with private students. |

Check out BEA Ltda - Los Leones 2532, Of. 301. I'm currently working there and they're looking for teachers. It's a bit of a hike (depending on where you're staying - I'm at Santa Lucia), but if you can cope with the irritating bus system here in Santiago, you'll find a very reputable institute to work with. I don't know what the classes/hours will be like during the Summer, but I'm really enjoying myself there. |
