Who do you nominate as TEFL President?

Please submit with your nomination at least one word explaining why you believe this candidate should be considered for the post.

I'd accept-anything is better than TEFLing. But I think Adrian Underhill has already got the job.

Is it a real position? Where did my post go? Was my nomination too controversial? Confused

... my vote's for that Albania teacher from Corlu who gave the disruptive students a bit of 'what's for' ...

Why ... our jobs would become easier and textbooks more interesting ... a power swing in favour of a teacher who could go to class empowered by a real hammer and sickle ...

Nazif Ulgen-a legend, a pioneer, a Hawaian shirt wearer in Istanbul, a myth, a good payer and offer of great conditions, showed how far you could get with limited English -I salute you. An importer of TEFLers, an exporter of carpets, a fraudster, a prison survivor, married to an architect, an educator, a manager, a linguist, a Kurd, a straight talker- I salute you.

In your DOS career how do you know that you have not been the boss of a convicted paedophile?

Perhaps the bottom feeder language schools could recruit in prison-they could then reduce the hourly rate. They would find the lojman luxurious and the curfew would be no problem. Don't know how they would cope with no homebrew in the rooms.

Funny you mention that. I was hearing the other day about a prison/work thing. The prisoners' families are paid about 4 ytl a day. They grow crops/make things depending on where they are in Turkey. Does anyone the name of this project.

Anyway, as I was reading I thought "teachers get paid more than that"
