Hi,

i was just wondering if there's any point coming to Barcelona or Madrid looking for work mid-season so to speak when the school year ends in June. Im not looking for a contract as I only want to work for 3 months and finish up in June. What are my chances of full-time work or will I have to arrange part-time with various schools?

also im just cursious if there are many Irish teachers in the system? im teaching in Korea at the moment and im finishing in February and i need a change to a warmer climate!!

thanks Smile

from what ive seen so far i think there is work available here most of the round, especially if you are not looking for a contract & even more so if you would be prepared to take 2 part time jobs in different schools - your best bet is just to keep looking on Loquo & other websites to see if the number of shcools advertising drops dramatically after Christmas

Theres quite a few Irish teachers - here in Barcelona anyway - in our school its only Irish & Yanks - and yep im a Northerner myself Laughing

In Madrid (I don't know about Barcelona), a lot of courses start in January: there's already a bit of a teacher shortage in Madrid, so I'd definitely say that you'll be fine here.

PROC - also known as All-Ireland RUNNERS-UP 2006! Yes, black-and-amber cat refers to Kilkenny (hurling) - also known as All-Ireland WINNERS 2006! Razz
